This feature allows you to create multi-lingual comprehensive surveys.
It is possible to schedule surveys and display them depending on language. All surveys can be made available for certain groups. Using templates you can visually customize the different pages of your survey.
Note: To work with this feature you need to be assigned to one of these roles: "Polling Manager" or "Portal Master".

1. Overview
- Click the button Portal Manager to get to the administrative area.
- Click Marketing & CRM > Surveys.
You now have different options: to select a survey to view or edit it:
- Overview Here you see all available polls sorted by reference date.
- Add Add a new survey.
- Settings These are the global settings of the surveys.

2. Add survey
- Click the button Portal Manager to get to the administrative area.
- Click Marketing & CRM > Surveys.
- Click on the tab Add.
To create a new survey, you must go through several steps:

2.1 Create Survey
- Survey Area: Enter a title for your survey in the field Title.
- Choose whether or not to set this survey to active by clicking the checkbox.
- Select a language for your survey - the languages depend on those that have been added to your portal under Tools & Administration > Portal Settings > Languages.
- Select the group(s) which the survey should be available for.
- Enter a description for your survey into the field Description.
- Dates Area: You can click on Show Dates and enter dates here in order to schedule your survey.
- Reference Date: Surveys are displayed by reference date in the overview.
Start Date:The date from when the survey is available.
End Date: The date until the survey is available.
Report Date: The date until which the report can be displayed.
- In the Pages Area you can specify content for your Front- and Final page using the WYSIWYG Editor. The final page is displayed after a user finishes the survey.
- After clicking on Save you have created your survey and are redirected to the overview - in order to add pages and questions please proceed by clicking the action icon and choosing Edit.

3. Edit survey
- Click Portal Manager in the menu to get to the administrative area.
- Click Marketing & CRM > Surveys.
- Click on the action icon and choose Edit.

3.1 Add page
You can adjust the order of your pages at any time by drag & drop.
- Click Portal Manager in the menu to get to the administrative area.
- Click Marketing & CRM > Surveys.
- Click on the action icon next to the survey you want to edit and choose Edit.
- In the navigation next to the tab "General Settings" you can see the tabs "Pages" and "Add" - click on the tab Add.
- Page Area: Enter a title for your page into the field Title.
- Enter a description for your page into the field Description.
- Design Area: Here you can customize the Template of your page.
- After clicking Save you are redirected to the overview of all pages in your survey. Next you can add questions to your page by clicking Questions... or choosing Questions in the action icon.

3.2 Add question
You can adjust the order of your questions at any time by drag & drop.
- Click Portal Manager in the menu to get to the administrative area.
- Click Marketing & CRM > Surveys.
- Click on the action icon next to your survey and select Pages.
- Select a page and click on its action icon selecting Questions.
- Question Area: Enter your question into the Field Name.
- Select a Control Type for the reply options in the dropdown menu.
Text: small text area
Text Area: big text area
Number: parameter with minimum and maximum
Range: parameter with minimum and maximum
Choice: here you can enter options for the replies in the next step
Radio-Button: here you can enter options for the replies in the next step
Checkbox: here you can enter options for the replies in the next step
Slider: parameter with minimum and maximum
Option Slider: here you can enter options for the replies in the next step
Ranking: this only works if you add rows - users can then rank these rows
- Choose whether or not the question should be mandatory
- Page Area: Here you can customize the appearance of this page with the template
- Click Save.
- If you chose a Control Type that requires options you are redirected to 3.2.1 Add options .

3.2.1 Add options
Here you can add response options to your questions if you have selected a Control Type that requires options
You can adjust the order of your options at any time by drag & dropn.
- Option Area: Enter a response option into the field Label.
- If applicable, enter a Value for this option.
- If applicable, enter a Visual ID - for further information see 4. Visual IDs.
- Click Save.
- Repeat steps 1-4 for each response option.

3.2.2 Rows
With rows you can specify general questions like "How do you rate..."etc.
You can adjust the order of your rows at any time by drag & drop.
- Click Portal Manager in the menu to get to the administrative area.
- Click Marketing & CRM > Surveys.
- Click on the action icon next to your survey and select Pages.
- Select a page and click on its action icon selecting Questions.
- Select a questions and click on its action icon selection Rows.
- Enter your Text into the field Label.
- If applicable, enter a Value for this row.

4. Visual IDs
With Visual IDs you can slot in pages that are displayed only in the choice of certain options.
I.e. You have an option that you can assign a Visual ID to.
You then create a new page with one or more questions and assign a Visual Reference to this page from the dropdown menu.
This specific page with the Visual Reference is per default displayed, only if the user does
NOT choose the option with the corresponding Visual ID.
If the user chooses the option with the corresponding Visual ID this page is skipped in the survey.
This way you can customize surveys with respect to different answers.
If you check the Option box "
Hide" the page will
NOT be displayed if the user picks the option with the Visual ID - instead it will be displayed if the user picks any other option.
Note: The field Visual Reference will appear only when creating and editing a page if a Visual ID has been assigned to at least one option has been assigned a visual ID.

5. Deactivate survey
You can deactivate a survey - for example if you want to create a survey that is not scheduled but don´t want it published until it has been finalized.
- Click Portal Manager in the menu to get to the administrative area.
- Click Marketing & CRM > Surveys.
- Click on the action icon next to your survey and select Deactivate.
- The survey´s status is changed from green=active to red=inactive.

6. Delete survey
- Click Portal Manager in the menu to get to the administrative area.
- Click Marketing & CRM > Surveys.
- Click on the action icon next to your survey and select Delete.

7. Report
- Click Portal Manager in the menu to get to the administrative area.
- Click Marketing & CRM > Surveys.
- Click on your survey and on the tab Report.
- In the dropdown menu: Page you can now select the page and display the report accordingly.

7.1 Export report
- Click Portal Manager in the menu to get to the administrative area.
- Click Marketing & CRM > Surveys.
- Click on the action icon next to your survey and select Export CSV.

8. Pages
Each survey that you create can contain any number of pages and each page can contain any number of questions.
Thus it is possible to arrange your survey and summarize issues thematically.
In order to display the pages of your survey proceed like this:
- Click Portal Manager in the menu to get to the administrative area.
- Click Marketing & CRM > Surveys.
- Click on your survey (or on the action icon and select pages).
- In case your survey has no assigned pages you are redirected to the "Add page" area. If pages have already been assigned, you´re directed to the Overview.
- With the corresponding action icon to the right of your page you can:
- edit every page
- get redirected to the Questions overview (or add questions if the selected page has no questions assigned)
- delete the page
- view the report of the page
- You can also adjust the order of your pages in the overview by drag & drop.

9. Settings
Under Settings you can additionally display certain fields when creating a survey.
External: If this option is checked, additional fields (
External ID and External Information) appear at pages, questions, options and rows.
These are useful if you export your results and want to use another tool for the evaluation.
Date: If this option is checken, the area Dates is displayed by default when you create and edit a survey. You can always simply select "Show dates" in the survey if you prefer having this option inactive.
